Shabbat Times Around the World
Find this week's candle-lighting and havdalah times for cities worldwide. Every city page shows sunset, candle-lighting (per the local community minhag) and Shabbat ends — calculated both with tzeit hakochavim (8.5°) and the 72-minute opinion — alongside nearby kosher hotels, restaurants and synagogues.
About our times
Times are recomputed weekly from each city's exact coordinates, IANA timezone, and the candle-lighting offset the local community has adopted (typically 18, 20, 22 or 40 minutes before sunset). Astronomical calculations use the NOAA sunset algorithm and solar elevation for havdalah, with a 72-minute alternative shown for those who follow that opinion.

Frequently Asked Questions
How are candle-lighting times calculated?
We compute sunset for each city's exact latitude and longitude, then subtract the candle-lighting offset adopted by the local community (typically 18, 20, 22 or 40 minutes). The offset used for each city is shown on its page.
Which method do you use for havdalah?
By default we use tzeit hakochavim at a solar depression of 8.5° (Rabbenu Tam adjacent, and common practice in Israel). We also display a 72-minute-after-sunset alternative for those who follow that opinion.
Are the times updated automatically?
Yes. Every city is recalculated weekly for the upcoming Shabbat using live astronomical data.
Can I find kosher hotels and restaurants near each city?
Yes. Each city page lists nearby kosher hotels, restaurants, synagogues and services pulled from the goKosher directory.
