Halachic note

Brussels follows the local custom of lighting candles 18 minutes before sunset. The Shabbat-end time shown uses tzeit hakochavim (8.5°). A 72-minute alternative is also shown for those who follow that opinion.

Brussels is home to a vibrant, diverse Jewish community of around 20,000, with strong Ashkenazi and Sephardic traditions. Shabbat observance is well-supported with numerous synagogues, kosher establishments, and an eruv centered around the Anderlecht and Forest neighborhoods.
