Shabbat Times in Istanbul

For Friday 2026-08-21

Halachic note

Istanbul follows the local custom of lighting candles 18 minutes before sunset. The Shabbat-end time shown uses tzeit hakochavim (8.5°). A 72-minute alternative is also shown for those who follow that opinion.

Istanbul is home to Turkey's largest Jewish community, a historic Sephardic population centered in the Galata and Şişli districts. Visitors can arrange Shabbat meals and synagogue access by contacting the Chief Rabbinate (Hahambaşılık) in advance.
