Halachic note

Boquete follows the local custom of lighting candles 18 minutes before sunset. The Shabbat-end time shown uses tzeit hakochavim (8.5°). A 72-minute alternative is also shown for those who follow that opinion.

Boquete has a small but welcoming Jewish expatriate community. Shabbat observance is centered around home-based gatherings, and visitors should bring kosher supplies from Panama City as there is no local Jewish infrastructure.
