The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel has remained a landmark presence within the Asbury Park seaside community for over 100 years. Designed by Beaux-Arts architect Whitney Warren of New York, our storied hotel now provides modern luxury and classic grandeur with a nod to our original Victorian architecture.

Nestled along the Jersey Shore, just a few steps from the famous Asbury Park Boardwalk, our hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean †“ providing gorgeous panoramic coastal views.

With so much to do at the hotel, there is almost no reason to leave the whole Yom Tov. Full day camp for the kids, day care for the babies. A full schedule of shows, activities, and games all day everyday. Sit back and relax at a movie or play Xbox in our exclusive Video Game Room. Take a dip in the pool, shoot some hoops or play volleyball with your friends and family. Whatever activities you like we have it planned and waiting for you.

About the provider

We have been hosting "PESACH TIME WITH THE MANDELS" (formerly Pesach Time Tours) for sixteen fabulous years.  This year we are so excited to be going to the beautiful Berkely Oceanfront Hotel  in Asbury Park, NJ. We are planning so many new things from entertainment to wonderful lecturers. As always, the food will be non-stop and many new scrumptious dishes and fabulous decor will be incorporated. Every aspect of your Pesach vacation is planned to ensure a complete, pleasurable and fun experience for the whole family. We are committed to making sure from the moment you arrive at THE BERKELY OCEANFRONT HOTEL, until you leave, nothing will get in the way of your enjoyment.

While the oceanfront setting is the star of the show, our rooms also come with every amenity you need for a relaxing Jersey Shore getaway.

Kashrut & dining

Breakfast and lunch on Chol Hamoed

Served buffet style with all the delicacies that you would expect from our top of the line kitchen. There will be omelette & blintz stations, salad & fruit bars, assorted cheesecakes & lox carving stations. The hot buffet buffets will have pancakes, french toast, hash brown potatoes and so much more, we will fill every appetite with a variety of lebens, cheeses, yogurts, herring and the list goes on & on.

Dinner

Tender veal roast dripping in its own juices, topped with onion frizzles. Accompanied with candied yams and a fresh steamed bundle of rainbow carrots. Or maybe you would prefer something a little more traditional, like a juicy piece of freshly fried schnitzel with garlic mashed potatoes. Whatever your desire and whatever your appetite is craving, we'll have it. We leave nothing to the imagination when it comes to all of our served meals. The variety is thoughtfully planned to ensure that every possible choice of Beef, Veal, Lamb & Poultry is served throughout Yom Tov. In addition to the gourmet choices we always have many other options to choose from. This includes a variety of freshly prepared fish, vegetarian or even a baked or boiled chicken. You will always find something to satisfy your palate. We don't forgot about the kids either, every menu has kid friendly options, (even though they may opt for the Prime Rib!) So sit back, loosen your belt and relish in what you are about to be served.

Desserts

As always, there will be a large variety of all the delicious cakes & pastries you have become accustomed to. We are adding on a few new & exciting items that we are sure you will love. We are famous for our low calorie desserts, that is - if you eat 2 pieces instead of 3 you'll save 1/3 of the calories! If anyone in your family is celebrating a special day during Pesach, please let us know so we can surprise them with a cake!

Tea Room

The tea room will be open and stocked 24 hours a day. There will be a variety of hot & cold drinks, cakes, cookies, pastries, fresh fruit & more. On evenings when dinner will be late (i.e. Erev Yom Tov), we will serve the kids a hot meal late in the afternoon to tide them over. We will also be featuring an afternoon ice cream bar, and a late night Viennese or buffet every night except Seder nights.

Wine and spirits

Of course we will have the standard Concord Grape & Cream Malaga, however if your palate desires something more exotic you will definitely find it here. We will be providing such favorites as Muscato D'asti, Chateneuf, Zinfandel, Cabernet, Merlot, Juenesse & a host of others including a full Baron Herzog assortment. In addition to the wines, we will be fully stocked with Kosher L'Pesach Vodka, Liqueurs, Cognac, Brandy & Schnapps.

There will be many Rabbonim and lecturers, Shiurim for men and women. A wide variety of captivating speakers to keep everyone motivated and enjoying Yom Tov. 

Activities & entertainment

Michoel Pruzansky  has been one of the hottest names in the Jewish music world for more than a decade. With 5 best selling solo albums, including the most recent "Shooting for the Moon", He has established himself as one of Jewish music's rare performers. Michoel continues to  delight audiences with his heartfelt vocals at  weddings and at concerts all over the world.

Eli Wax is a well-known musician who has been performing weddings and  simcha's for many years.  Residing in Lakewood NJ, he accompanies many of the popular Jewish singers both in concert and at affairs.  A singer as well as a keyboardist, Eli has also led adult & boys choirs, and produces cd's in his studio.
