About this listing

U Paesolu offers a unique opportunity for a kosher getaway on the eastern coast of Corsica. Nestled within 13 hectares of lush woodlands in Zonza, this residence provides a serene escape overlooking the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Known for its direct access to the famous Pinarello Beach, the location combines the rugged natural beauty of the "Island of Beauty" with a fully managed Jewish holiday environment. Whether looking for a quiet retreat in the pine forests or a base to explore the southern reaches of the island, U Paesolu serves as a premier destination for travelers seeking a structured kosher experience in a Mediterranean setting.

The property is characterized by its spacious layout, offering privacy and tranquility amidst Mediterranean vegetation. Its location near Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio ensures that guests are never far from essential amenities while remaining immersed in the sights and sounds of the Corsican coast. For those attending during the Passover season, the residence transforms into a dedicated community hub featuring high-standard culinary services and religious infrastructure.

About the area

Situated in the commune of Zonza, U Paesolu is strategically positioned between the mountains and the sea. The residence sits on a sprawling 13-hectare estate, located approximately 16 km north of Porto-Vecchio, one of Corsica's most popular coastal hubs. This region of Corsica is celebrated for its dramatic granite cliffs and crystal-clear bays. While Corsica does not have the sprawling Jewish quarters found in mainland French cities like Paris or Marseille, the presence of a structured holiday program at U Paesolu creates a self-contained Jewish communal atmosphere.

The geography of the area is particularly noteworthy; a pedestrian bridge connects the residence to the Pinarello coastline, crossing over a tranquil pond that serves as a sanctuary for local flora and fauna. The nearby village of Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio provides a local touchpoint for guests, while the broader region offers access to the famous GR20 hiking trails and the stunning white cliffs of Bonifacio, which are reachable for day trips.

Nearby Jewish landmarks

The eastern coastline of Corsica is renowned for its natural beauty and proximity to historical ports. Visitors staying at U Paesolu can easily access Porto-Vecchio, a historic port town located 16 km away, known for its 16th-century Genoese citadel and vibrant marina. The local surroundings are defined by the Tyrrhenian Sea and the mountainous interior of the island.

Pinarello Beach: A short walk across a scenic pedestrian bridge leads to this famous stretch of white sand, protected by a dense pine forest that provides natural shade and a calm swimming environment.

Cavu Valley: Located a short drive away, this area offers natural freshwater pools and river walks, providing a different perspective of Corsica’s varied landscape.

Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio: Just 3 km from the residence, this village offers essential services and local charm, serving as a gateway to the nearby Ospedale forest.

Wildlife Observation: The bridge connecting the residence to the beach overlooks a pond where guests can often spot local turtles and pink flamingos in their natural habitat.

What to expect

Guests can expect a holiday focused on relaxation, natural exploration, and comprehensive religious services. Afternoon tea time provides a space for socializing with coffee, tea, and pastries.

Accommodations are designed to suit families and groups, set within a landscape that encourages outdoor movement. On the religious front, the residence provides a fully functioning synagogue with daily services led by a professional Hazan. Educational content is often integrated into the program, with lectures and courses offered throughout the stay.
