About

Marina Smir Hotel & Spa is a comfortable four-star seaside hotel on Morocco’s northern Mediterranean coast — an indoor heated pool, a beach and marina setting, and an easy base for Chefchaouen, Tétouan and Tangier.

This program is built around value: a complete, well-organised Passover with generous kosher food, a full family program, excursions and a genuinely warm community atmosphere. Our promise — guests feel they received significantly more than they expected.

Most families choosing a Passover programme are making one calculation: how much of the budget goes on the room, and how much on everything that actually makes the eight days work. Marina Smir is built for families who would rather put the money in the second column.

The kitchen is the same kitchen. The supervision is the same Beth Din of Casablanca, the same Glatt Kosher Lamehadrin standard, the same strictly no-kitniyot policy, and the same Sarah Tours culinary team that runs our five-star programme. The minyanim, the shiurim, the Chol Hamoed excursions and the Grand Mimouna are all the same. What you are not paying for is a private pool attached to your bedroom.

It suits larger families, groups travelling together, and guests for whom a full and well-run Passover matters more than the star rating on the door. It suits you less well if a private terrace and a villa footprint are the point of the holiday — in which case our Banyan Tree programme is the honest recommendation.

Days open with minyan and a full breakfast — Israeli, Moroccan, American, Mediterranean and French, with a large selection of French cheeses. Shiurim run through the morning, and the Sarah Tea Room stays open between meals with mint tea, pastries, fresh fruit and juices.

The hotel sits directly on the marina, with an indoor heated pool, a beach and an easy base for the northern coast. Chol Hamoed brings the optional excursions: Chefchaouen and Tétouan for the medinas, Tangier and Asilah for the coast, Fes and Ouazzane for Jewish heritage, and a Gibraltar day for eligible passports.

Evenings are full-board Glatt Kosher Lamehadrin, with festive kiddushim through the festival and the Grand Mimouna at its close. Guests who want a longer stay can add the optional pre-arrival before the chag or the Shabbat extension afterwards.

Marina Smir is a four-star seaside hotel and the programme is built around value. The kashrut, the culinary team and the religious programme are the same. What differs is the property: hotel rooms rather than private-pool villas, and a price to match.

About the provider

Sarah Tours is a kosher travel house based at 2 Quai Zorn in Strasbourg, France, with tour-operating and catering teams on the ground in Morocco. We have organised kosher holidays, catering and celebrations for more than thirty-five years.

The difference that matters is structural. We are not an agency reselling a hotel package. We contract the properties, we bring our own culinary team and our own kashrut arrangements, and the same people who run our Passover programmes also cater our weddings and private events. When something needs solving at eleven at night, it is our team solving it.

Before the current Mediterranean programmes we ran Passover at the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort for many consecutive years, and have hosted programmes in Marrakech, Agadir, France and Tel Aviv. That history is why the operation runs the way it does.
