About this listing

Novosibirskaya Yevreyskaya Religioznaya Obshina serves as a vital center for Jewish life in the heart of Siberia. Located in the Tsentralnyy Rayon of Novosibirsk, this synagogue provides a dedicated space for prayer and study. It officially follows the Ashkenaz tradition, welcoming both local residents and visitors to the region.

The community operates under the leadership of Rabbi Yehuda Weissler, who serves as the Chief Rabbi of Siberia. This institution maintains a consistent schedule of daily minyanim despite the unique challenges of the Siberian climate. Whether you are traveling for business or visiting family, this shul offers a traditional environment for religious observance.

The facility is situated on Trudovaya Ulitsa, making it accessible to those staying in the city center. It plays a central role in preserving Jewish identity in Novosibirsk. Visitors will find a community committed to maintaining Torah values and providing spiritual support to all who enter.

About the area

Novosibirsk is the third-largest city in Russia and serves as a major gateway to the Siberian region. The synagogue is located on Trudovaya Ulitsa, which sits within the Tsentralnyy Rayon (Central District). This neighborhood is the busiest part of the city, housing the primary administrative and cultural buildings.

The Jewish presence in Novosibirsk has grown steadily over recent decades. This synagogue stands as a symbol of that resilience and growth. It is conveniently positioned near major thoroughfares, allowing for easy access via public transit or taxi from various parts of the city.

The Heart of Siberian Jewry

The Tsentralnyy Rayon provides a safe and accessible environment for congregants. Most of the city's main hotels are located within a reasonable distance of the shul. This makes it a practical choice for Jewish travelers who need to attend daily prayers or celebrate Shabbat while in Russia.

During the winter months, the area experiences very cold temperatures and heavy snow. The community remains active throughout these seasons, ensuring the doors stay open for those seeking a minyan. The central location helps ensure that services remain reachable even during inclement weather.

Nearby Jewish landmarks

The central location of the shul places it near several local landmarks and essential services in Novosibirsk. Visitors can easily navigate the city from this well-connected point.

Lenin Square serves as the central hub for local transportation and gatherings.
