About this listing

Mikvah Kenitra serves the Jewish community and visitors in the Rabat Salé Kénitra region of Morocco. This facility provides essential ritual immersion services in a city known for its historic Moroccan charm. It is one of the few dedicated mikvah locations in this specific part of the coast north of Rabat.

The mikvah is located on Rue Salah Eddine. It offers a private space for those observing the laws of Taharat HaMishpacha. Jewish travelers passing through northern Morocco often rely on this site during their journey. The facility plays a vital role in maintaining Jewish life in the local area.

About the area

Kenitra is a major port city situated on the Sebou River. It sits roughly 40 kilometers north of the Moroccan capital, Rabat. The address on Rue Salah Eddine puts the mikvah in an accessible part of the city center.

Surrounding Jewish Infrastructure

The Jewish presence in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region has deep roots. While the community in Kenitra is small, it remains connected to the larger Jewish hubs in Morocco. Travelers will find the following nearby:

Synagogues in Rabat: Several active prayer spaces are located a short drive south.
Kosher Food: Most kosher dining and grocery options are found in Rabat or Casablanca.
Jewish Heritage Sites: Old cemeteries and historic quarters exist in the neighboring city of Salé.

The city's rail station provides easy links to other major cities. This makes the mikvah a geographic midpoint for those traveling between Tangier and Casablanca.

Nearby Jewish landmarks

Kenitra serves as a gateway to several historic Jewish sites along the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Visitors often use the city as a base for exploring the northern reaches of the country.

Regional Points of Interest

Rabat Jewish Quarter: The capital city is home to a historic Mellah and the Henri Kadoch Synagogue.
Salé Cemetery: Located just across the river from Rabat, this site holds significant ancestral history.
Mehdia Beach: A popular coastal spot known for its Spanish fort and scenic views of the Atlantic.
Thamusida Ruins: Significant Roman archaeological tracks are located just north of the city.

While Kenitra itself has a smaller Jewish footprint today, its central location allows easy travel to the larger communities in Casablanca. Most travelers coordinate their visits to the mikvah alongside trips to these nearby cultural centers.

What to expect

Visitors can expect a discreet and functional environment at Mikvah Kenitra. The facility is managed with respect for traditional customs and privacy. It serves both residents and the occasional Jewish tourist exploring the coast.

Facility Standards

The mikvah is maintained according to standard halachic requirements for ritual immersion. Since Kenitra is not a primary tourist hub, the facility offers a more quiet and personal experience compared to busy city mikvahs.

Private immersion pool.
Basic preparation areas for guests.
Quiet residential or small-business surroundings.
