On the first five floors, the ibis budget Amsterdam City South provides lower located rooms for Shabbat that can be opened with a regular room key. If you are staying in the hotel during Shabbat, please mention "Shabbat observer† in the special request box on the Booking page. The hotel then will provide you a room on their lower floors that can also be opened with a regular room key.
In addition, the hotel also provides their Jewish guests a Shabbat lamp which can be placed in the room during Shabbat. The lamp makes it possible to turn on/off the light in the room during Shabbat, without using electricity. The Shabbat lamp can be purchased at the reception for EUR 4,95.
