About the provider
Operating for nearly two decades, the restaurant at Chabad La Paz was established to solve the "kosher desert" problem in Bolivia. Managed by the Freiman family, the kitchen focuses on bringing fresh, high-protein meals to travelers who are often weary from high-altitude trekking. It has become a legendary stop for thousands of visitors who seek both physical nourishment and a sense of community.
Kashrut & dining
All meat is Glatt Kosher and shechted on-site under the strict supervision of Rabbi Freiman. All baked goods are Pas Yisroel. Due to the lack of kosher infrastructure in Bolivia, we produce our own wine, bread, and dips from scratch to maintain the highest kashrut integrity.

Friday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Bakery open for Challah and pre-Shabbat snacks) Shabbat: Closed for restaurant service (Open for pre-registered communal meals) Saturday Night: Opens 1 hour after Shabbat until 11:30 PM.

Getting there
We are centrally located in the heart of the tourist district. Look for the Hebrew signs on the corner of Calle Santa Cruz and Illampu. Easily reachable by foot from most central hostels or by a short taxi ride from the Sopocachi district.
