Hummus Eliyahu offers a focused and authentic dining experience in the heart of Tel Aviv, specializing in traditional Israeli hummus. Situated on Aluf Kalman Magen Street, this establishment caters to a diverse crowd looking for fresh, pareve meals served in a casual and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant has built a reputation for providing substantial, budget-friendly portions that appeal to both solo diners and visiting families.

Operating as a pareve establishment, it serves as a reliable culinary stop for those adhering to kosher dietary laws while navigating the city's busy commercial districts. The menu is centered on the timeless combination of creamy hummus, tahini, and warm chickpeas, often served with fresh pita and pickles. This location is particularly popular among the local workforce and shoppers due to its efficient service and central placement.

Whether you choose to dine inside or take advantage of the outdoor seating, the experience is designed to be straightforward and satisfying. The inclusion of delivery and takeout options further ensures that visitors can enjoy their meals wherever they are staying in the Tel Aviv District.

About the area

Located at Aluf Kalman Magen St 5, the restaurant is situated within the vibrant Sarona complex, a historic district that was formerly a German Templer colony. This area has been meticulously restored and now serves as one of Tel Aviv's most prominent culinary and shopping hubs. Its proximity to several major transit points makes it easily accessible from various parts of the city.

For those attending services or seeking communal connections, the area is within a reasonable distance of several local synagogues. This part of Tel Aviv is known for being a bridge between the business-heavy HaKirya district and the residential neighborhoods of Montefiore and Sarona. The urban planning here emphasizes pedestrian-friendly walkways and open spaces, allowing for a pleasant stroll before or after a meal.

Proximity to the Hashalom railway station and major bus routes ensures that visitors from outlying areas or neighboring cities can reach the location with ease. The surrounding streets are characterized by a mix of modern office towers and beautifully restored heritage buildings, reflecting the architectural evolution of Tel Aviv.

Nearby Jewish landmarks

The Sarona Market area is a premier destination for those seeking a blend of historical charm and modern commerce. Visitors can explore the preserved Templer-era buildings and expansive green lawns that define this unique urban park. The complex is known for its high-end boutiques, artisan food stalls, and a generally family-friendly atmosphere that makes it a popular weekend spot for locals and tourists alike.

A short distance away, the Azrieli Center stands as a landmark of the Tel Aviv skyline, offering extensive shopping opportunities and scenic views from its observation deck. For those interested in cultural heritage, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Cameri Theatre are both within easy reach, providing access to world-class exhibitions and performances.

The neighborhood is also well-positioned for those looking to explore the broader Jewish history of the city. While the immediate vicinity is markedly modern, the surrounding streets connect to established residential areas where Jewish life has flourished for decades, bridging the gap between historical Tel Aviv and its contemporary development.

What to expect

Groups are also welcome, with reservations available to ensure seating during peak hours. Beyond the main hummus selections, the menu features simple desserts and coffee, providing a complete meal from start to finish without the need for a high-end price tag.
