About the area

Situated in the central Golan Heights, Aniam is a moshav known for its unique blend of agriculture and art. The restaurant is located in Kfar ha-Omanim, a specialized pedestrian street modeled after European villages, which has become a primary destination for tourists in the area. This location provides a tranquil environment away from the busier urban centers of the Galilee.

Religious visitors will find that the nearby city of Katzrin, often referred to as the "Capital of the Golan," is approximately 10 minutes away by car. Katzrin hosts several active synagogues and community services that support a religious lifestyle. The proximity to Katzrin makes Aniam a convenient dining location for those staying in local zimmers or larger regional accommodations.

Nearby Jewish landmarks

Aniam is widely recognized for its "Artists’ Village" (Kfar ha-Omanim), where the restaurant is located. This charming promenade features European-style architecture and stone-built galleries showcasing local pottery, paintings, and jewelry. It serves as a peaceful stop for those exploring the rugged beauty of the Golan Heights.

Nature enthusiasts will find themselves close to some of Israel's most famous trails and water features. The Yehudiya Forest Nature Reserve and the Zavitan Stream are just a short drive away, offering hiking paths and refreshing natural pools. The nearby Meshushim Pool (Hexagon Pool) is another significant landmark, illustrating the unique volcanic geology of the region.

For those interested in historical sites, the Ancient Katzrin Park and the Golan Archaeological Museum are located in the nearby city of Katzrin. These sites provide a deep look into Jewish life during the Mishnaic and Talmudic periods, including the remains of an ancient synagogue and reconstructed homes.

What to expect

Visitors can expect a welcoming environment that aligns with the relaxed pace of life in the Golan. The restaurant specializes in meat dishes, emphasizing hearty preparations suitable for the mountain climate. Because it is located in the Artists’ Village, the aesthetic of the restaurant and its immediate surroundings are visually engaging, featuring stone pathways and eclectic storefronts.

Kashrut is a priority for the establishment, which operates under the supervision of the Rabbanut Ramat HaGolan. This ensures that the meat sourcing and preparation meet the standards required by the local rabbinate. Diners usually find the atmosphere helpful and straightforward, with a focus on quality service and traditional hospitality.

Seating options are designed to accommodate varying group sizes, whether you are stopping for a quick lunch during a day of hiking or planning a more relaxed dinner after the art galleries close.
