About this listing

Located within the bustling Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, the Kosher Stand provides a reliable dining option for Jewish sports fans and concert-goers. This establishment ensures that those observing kashrut do not have to compromise on their dietary standards while attending professional hockey games or live entertainment. Operating as a meat-based food service, it fills a vital niche for the local and visiting Jewish community in the Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area.

The stand operates under the strict supervision of the Orthodox Rabbinical Board (ORB), a well-known kashrut authority in Florida. This certification provides peace of mind for diners looking for high-quality meat options in a public venue. Whether you are there to cheer on the Florida Panthers or attend a world-class performance, the presence of an ORB-certified stand makes the arena experience more inclusive for the Orthodox community.

About the area

Amerant Bank Arena is situated in Sunrise, Florida, directly across from the massive Sawgrass Mills outlet mall. This location is one of the primary entertainment hubs in Broward County. For kosher travelers traveling from Miami-Dade or Palm Beach counties, the arena is easily accessible via several major Florida toll roads and highways.

The surrounding area of Sunrise and the neighboring city of Plantation have established Jewish populations. This makes the arena a frequent destination for families and individuals from the surrounding eruvim. The facility serves as a central point for the Western Broward Jewish community, providing a venue where Jewish heritage and modern entertainment intersect through organized Jewish Heritage Nights and similar community events.

Nearby Jewish landmarks

The vicinity of the Amerant Bank Arena provides several points of interest for visitors keeping kosher. Just a short drive away, the Sawgrass Mills Mall offers extensive shopping opportunities and is a major draw for tourists in South Florida. The broader Sunrise and Fort Lauderdale areas are home to various established Jewish communities, particularly toward the east and south into Hollywood.

Several long-standing synagogues serve the region, including Chabad of Sunrise and Young Israel of Sunrise, providing options for Shacharit, Mincha, and Maariv services. For those staying in the area over a weekend, the nearby cities of Plantation and Hollywood offer a wider selection of kosher grocery stores and bakeries to assist with Shabbat preparations.

The arena sits at the edge of the Everglades, offering unique nature trails and outdoor activities for those with free time before an evening event. Travelers often find the location convenient due to its proximity to major highways like I-75 and the Sawgrass Expressway, making it a reachable destination from large Jewish hubs in North Miami Beach and Boca Raton.

What to expect

Visitors can expect a classic arena dining experience with the added assurance of kosher certification. The menu typically features fan favorites such as kosher hot dogs, sausages, and other meaty snacks that are easy to consume while watching a game. As a fleishig (meat) establishment, the stand follows all halakhic requirements for food preparation and service.

The stand is usually located on the main concourse level, though its exact position may vary depending on the arena's configuration for specific events. Queues can be expected during intermissions or pre-game rushes, so arriving early is often recommended for those wanting to secure a meal before the action starts. The staff is accustomed to serving a diverse crowd and maintains the standards set forth by the ORB.

It is important to note that the stand's operating hours are strictly tied to the arena's event schedule. If the arena is closed or if there is no major event taking place, the stand will not be accessible. For those attending late-night games, the availability of a hot kosher meal on-site eliminates the need to search for late-night dining options in the suburbs of Fort Lauderdale after the event concludes.
