About
Nestled in Levallois-Perret, Afrika is a unique culinary establishment that reconciles African tradition with kosher gastronomy. This restaurant invites you on a flavorful journey where the enchanting aromas of West Africa and ancestral Jewish culinary art meet harmoniously. In strict compliance with the rules of kashrut, the Afrika menu boldly reinvents the classics of these two gastronomic worlds. Each culinary creation finely blends selected ingredients, creating a symphony of tastes where tradition rhymes with innovation. The history of Africanistes is simple: the desire to share the flavors of West Africa in Paris, and especially within the kosher world. Afrika was born from the encounter between African culinary richness and the requirements of kosher gastronomy. A brand-new concept for the Jewish community worldwide. Each dish tells the story of Africa, but also the commitment to kashrut. Recipes are passed down, sometimes reinvented, but always from the heart. Afrika is a bridge between cultures, without ever sacrificing authenticity. Our tasting was a real discovery. Yeochoua started with the plantains: even I, who doesn't like bananas, found the taste delicate, slightly salty, without the usual sweet flavor. Eric tried the claclos, golden plantain fritters accompanied by a savory tomato sauce. I then discovered the pastels: a golden pastry, a melting beef filling... a true delight. Then came the main courses, and that's when we got down to business. I put on my gloves to try the dish I was craving, the foutou with palm nut sauce (sauce graine), a Côte d'Ivoire best-seller: a tender banana ball served with a creamy sauce and melt-in-the-mouth meat. Eric chose the mafé, a smooth peanut-based stew with meat, served with fragrant rice. Yeochoua handled the burger, enhanced by a secret peanut-based sauce - I'm warning you, you're going to love it. And Airé finished with the chicken yassa, marinated in a melting sauce of onions, lemon, and spices. For desserts, my favorite was the chocolate mousse - did you know that chocolate originates from Africa? You also find incredible tiramisus, and Simon fell for the allokos with chocolate sauce.
