With 2 Indian restaurants under his belt, Sababa Grill owner Mozaharul is no stranger to Indian cuisine. When he initially purchased the renowned Kosher Grill, Subres, he planned to keep things status quo.
Then he realized that given his experience, he had the opportunity to bring Miami something it lacked, Glatt Kosher authentic Indian cuisine. After working with his team to make authentic Indian food kosher, he opened Sababa in October of 2021.
There are a few Kosher Indian restaurants in America, but this is the only one that is Glatt Kosher, which is rather exciting. It’s all about the meat!
Sababa is a casual place, no pretense necessary. If you’re there, you’re there for the food. The menu is extensive, as Mozaharul endeavors to give diners an Indian experience while also providing more traditional grill options for less adventurous diners.
Some of the authentic entrees on the menu include a variety of curries such as the mango chicken curry, the salmon curry, the beef curry, and the mahi-mahi curry. Each curry contains a mix of Indian spices, onion gravy, and Indian curry sauce. Biryanis are another traditional Indian entrée on the menu. Including a mix of basmati rice, flavors, and 20 different Indian spices (don’t ask which ones, it’s top-secret!), Sababa’s Biryanis come in beef, chicken, and vegetable.
Vegetarians will be pleased with the extensive vegetarian section on the menu, and carnivores will go to town on all the Glatt Kosher options such as beef saag or chicken vindaloo (super spicy!). All diners can chow down on the famous Indian bread known as Naan, which comes in plain, garlic, Kashmiri, onion Kulcha, and chicken Keema. Naan is made in a clay oven, causing a massive difference in the taste. It’s not something that can be replicated in your kitchen at home. The clay oven is also used for other dishes, such as the Tandoori items on the menu.
Leaning on earlier versions of the menu, Sababa also has American and Israeli options such as burgers, hot dogs, fries, soups, salads, hummus, shawarma, and other appetizers and sides.
Sababa offers catering and hosts private parties. They have both outdoor and indoor dining.
