General information
In Hebrew, “toda” simply means “thank you”. A simplicity that symbolizes the very beautiful encounter at the origin of this gourmet, sunny and highly addictive spot. Head to the 6th arrondissement for a journey of the senses that should leave no one indifferent.
We could start this article by extolling the benefits and flavors of the good Mediterranean cuisine of Israel, the freshness of its ingredients and the fervor of its representatives. But this time, we prefer to tell you the story of the meeting at the origin of Toda. A real beautiful story as we do few…
When chance and destiny meet in the Holy Land
At the start, there is Daniel, a young 25-year-old Israeli at the head of Deli's Dad, a gourmet kosher restaurant. On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, as he heads towards the cellar of his establishment, he comes across a large bag filled with personal effects (computers, jewelry, etc.). Wanting to do the right thing, he thinks of a burglary and decides to recover the bag to keep it in his restaurant. It was then that he saw the thief pass in front of his window, visibly looking for the loot, and decided to close the iron curtain to avoid reprisals.
A few minutes later, the owner of the stolen objects, a certain Khalis, was notified by the police. After recovering all of his belongings (a rare thing), he goes to Deli's Dad to thank Daniel. On the one hand, Khalis, holder of a Master's degree from a business school (at IDRAC), is looking for a way to reward his savior. On the other hand, Daniel, a fervent believer, justifies his act by evoking God. After several days, the two acolytes sympathize and decide to combine their skills to create Toda ("thank you" in Hebrew) instead of Deli's Dad.
